My natural lashes are short, straight, and thin; I want them to look long, curled, and thick. Enter TikTok’s latest makeup hack, “Mascara Cocktailing,” that’s literally winning the hearts of millions.

Don’t worry; this has nothing to do with mixing your favorite mascara with alcohol. My genetics didn’t gift me with Bambi lashes, and I have never wanted to commit to fake ones or extensions. Therefore, mascara cocktailing has been my go-to trick for years.

In mascara cocktailing, you basically layer various mascaras with different benefits, so your ultimate look is exactly what your dream lashes are made of. And makeup artists have been using this trick for years.

Makeup artist Niki M’nray told InStyle, “It gives you a more of a 3-D effect.” It’s not as messy as fake lashes and cheaper than investing in lash extensions that come with drawbacks like potentially losing your natural eyelashes when you remove them.

First, you need to figure out what your lashes need- does it need length, curl, definition, lift, or volume? Then, you can curate your look by choosing the mascaras to layer for the final reveal.
